Labour & Employment
Contracts, collective agreements, dismissals, expatriate staffing and labour inspectorate disputes.
The Cameroonian Labour Code is protective of employees and procedurally demanding of employers. Most employer losses are procedural rather than substantive. We build employment documentation and dismissal processes that hold, and we represent both employers and employees in labour disputes.
Dismissal is a procedure, not a decision
A justified dismissal carried out without the required notice, hearing and inspectorate steps will still be found abusive. We take employers through the sequence in writing so the file is complete before anyone is told anything.
Social security and payroll exposure
CNPS contributions, occupational risk cover and payroll tax create liabilities that surface years later during an inspection. We audit payroll classification and contractor arrangements before an inspector does.
Employees have rights worth asserting
We also act for employees in unfair dismissal, unpaid entitlement and workplace harassment matters, and we pursue them through conciliation and the labour courts.
